Kings Tour Using "Master of Disaster" Clinton Consultant

The Chronicles of ~Natomasgate~

The Kings and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson's Task Force are doing a bus tour out in the Foothills, to try to sell their ridiculous Railroad Yards Real Estate Scam, er, New Kings Arena of Alkali Flats. They have hired a self described 'crisis communications expert' to run this thing, who the NY Times calls the "master of the political dark arts" for his consistent results at torpedoing any good Democrats, and replacing them with Triangulating Sons of Trickle Downers. True to emulating his consultant peers in the Republican Party, because according to the Third Way the Dems are just too Demmy -like, so they must copy the Other Side, the poor Harvard edjumacated wonker has inflicted a Russo Marsh Tea Party Express imitation production on us to carry the Task Force evangelization team around. Instead of Palin on the bus, we get KJ. If only we are exposed enough, we should be able to feel their pain, and have an urge to send Sacramento about a half billion to build a purple topped entertainment venue, in a flood plain with no parking for thousands of lobbyists.

For about 40 nights of the year, the state legislature can then be entertained a bit closer to the Capitol in bigger, nicer skyboxes.

While abandoning a perfectly good sports entertainment complex, WITH infrastructure, in the same city that is surrounded by nearly new suburbs less than 15 years old. That is closer to the international airport.

Sacramento Bee this am:

Chauffeured in a dark black bus with neon lighting, leather couches and flat screen TVs inside, Lehane and other members of the task force made the first stop in their 125-mile tour at the Town Center shopping complex in El Dorado Hills.

"We understand there is a trickle-down effect" of building a new arena and keeping the Kings in town, said Debbie Manning, the president of the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce.

From there, the task force motored to The Fountains at Roseville, where Sacramento Kings dancers entertained shoppers and the team set up a table hawking season tickets.

The group then visited construction crews working on a new veterinary school on the University of California, Davis, campus. The message there was the job potential a new arena would afford those workers.

_____/endquote

There, you see ? One way they are going to save costs is to use veterinary students instead of doctors at the New Digs. Maybe they'll have a few leftover we can use at our empty hospital wing ! This, of course, assumes that there will be any veterinary students at all with the great big UC Davis TUITION FEE INCREASES they're going to get smacked with, because our new assemblyperson and her state senator husband on the ARENA TASK FORCE always vote NO on any TAXES that fund the schools.

Hines Farm Blog: EXCLUSIVE: Fired Army Whistleblower Receives $970 ...

Bunnatine “Bunny” Greenhouse, the former chief oversight official of contracts at the Army Corps of Engineers, has reached a $970,000 settlement six years after she was demoted for publicly criticizing a multi-billion dollar, no-bid contract to Halliburton — the company formerly headed by then-Vice President Dick Cheney. Greenhouse had accused the Pentagon of unfairly awarding the contract to Halliburton subsidiary, Kellogg Brown & Root. Testifying before Congress in June 2005, she called the contract the worst case of government abuse she had ever witnessed in her 20-year career. Just two months after that testimony, Greenhouse was demoted at the Pentagon, ostensibly for "poor performance." She had overseen government contracts for 20 years and had drawn high praise in her rise to become the senior civilian oversight official at the Army Corps of Engineers. With the help of the National Whistleblowers Center, Greenhouse filed a lawsuit challenging her demotion. In a Democracy Now! broadcast exclusive, Greenhouse announces that a settlement has been reached in what is seen as a major victory for government whistleblowers. We’re also joined by Greenhouse’s attorney, Michael Kohn, and by Stephen Kohn, executive director of the National Whistleblowers Center. I was raised on a small farm in Illinois. My wife, Eileen and I and family have worked together hand and hand on this farm (and adjoining land we bought) since 1966 making most all the land and building improvements. I attended and graduated from Alleman Highschool (1965), Rock Island, IL., Blackhawk College, Moline, IL., University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree (Cum Laude) in Agricultural Engineering in 1970. I worked as a registered Professional Engineer for the Rock Island District, US Army Corps of Engineers for 33 years, before retiring. I held several supervisory positions while at Corps: Chief, Regulatory Branch, Assistant Chief of Operations Division, Chief of the Lock and Dam Branch, and Mississippi River Project Manager. My wife and I have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. We have businesses associated with farming, "live edge" furniture making, vegetable produce, and graphics. We enjoy pursuing our hobby interests.
