Among the recipients are the Norfolk Hammerheads Aquatic Club, Bird Studies Canada, Community Living Access Support Services, Haldimand Norfolk Resource Education and Counselling Help, Norfolk Little People’s Daycare and the Port Dover Skating Club.
A total of 23 local groups will be sharing nearly 805 thousand dollars.
A break down of the funding is as follows:
Bird Studies Canada $40,000 over one year to provide safe linkage to the trail system in Lions Park. The grant will contribute to the costs of constructing a pedestrian bridge over Whitemans Creek which will provide a safe off-road link from the existing paved trail to the park entrance.
Community Living Access Support Services, as lead organization on this collaborative $8,500 over six months to raise awareness of opportunities for aging parents to plan ahead for support for their adult children with developmental disabilities. This will be done through an evaluation of the Haldimand Norfolk Seniors Partnership’s work on this topic and the development of a strategic plan to guide the Partnership’s future work.
Cottonwood Mansion Preservation Foundation $292,600 over three years to increase opportunities for young people and newcomers to Canada to explore farming as a career. Grant funds will be used to purchase shared agricultural equipment and provide access to irrigation at an incubator farm located on the border between Brant and Hamilton. New farmers will receive mentorship and training to assist them in developing successful farm businesses. This grant has an impact in more than one OTF catchment area.
Haldimand Grand River Rowing Club Inc. $20,000 over six months to maintain access to the well-used community hall that is the site of a breakfast program for the adjacent elementary school three times a week as well as the location of a wide range of recreational programs. The grant will allow the hall flooring to be replaced.
Kids Can Fly Early Child Development and Parenting Support, as lead organization on this collaborative $15,000 over two years to increase awareness of the importance of life-long literacy in Brantford and Brant County through support for the Family Literacy Festival held each September. Types of Daycare Center – Which One is For You?
In starting any business, all ideas matter. What you want is to have as much information as you can about that which you want to start. You may collect a ton of ideas and perhaps only a fraction of them will become really useful in your chosen business but you do have to make a research and have an open mind. In starting your own daycare center business, it pays to do your own research too and base your ultimate decision to go ahead with your venture. You have to make plan before you even think about it.
Do you know everything there is to know about daycare centers? Or do you think you have enough information about business in general to make that final leap into being an entrepreneur? At this point perhaps, your answer to both questions is negative. But dont worry as we will provide you here with the simplest answers that will surely spark your interests and help you to make that decision to start your own daycare center.
Depending on your available resources and your inclinations, you can start a daycare center based on three types of services. The first one is the in home daycare provider. You will be providing a service that is more popularly known as being a nanny. You will be watching the children of your clients inside their own house. There is no need for you to set up facilities as you will be in your clients home. This is a very limited service since you cannot accept more than one client at a time.
Another type of daycare service is the home daycare center where you allow children to stay in your own home. Stay at home moms are the best candidates for this type of daycare service.
The last type is the childcare center where you have setup facilities designed for taking care of children. You will have to hire employees who will be doing different functions and tasks in the proper care of children. This is the most complicated and most expensive to start but it could provide you too, with the utmost satisfaction and financial returns.
The type of daycare service you will eventually choose will be determined by what you have and your qualifications. It is easy to start with a small operation and progress to a larger one as soon as you feel ready and have enough resources.
