About the Game

Guerin is expected to present more of a challenge for the Spartans in the interplay of the CSC Wheaton Academy, St. Francis drilled that weekend. The Gators looked good in their two victories, a 55-0 thrashing of Chicago Navy in week 1 and a 34-7 triumph over the Golden CSC Walther Lutheran two weeks ago. On the other hand, the Gators have not done much compared to SCC giant blue Aurora Christian last Friday.

Guerin offense centers around the trio of Williams, and Kelly Dabe. Williams scored four touchdowns against the sea and added a touchdown pass of 67 yards vs. Walther. Kelly and Dabe also hung for touchdowns in recent weeks.

Petrando is to work on both sides of the ball for the Spartans. The junior returned an interception 65 yards for the first touchdown of the game last week and rushed for two more scores as the Spartans amassed a lead of 35-0 over Wheaton Academy in half. Nate Saint Francis Baratta gives added depth backfield.Baratta reached the end zone three times, twice on runs of 25 and 44 yards.

A victory over the Gators would put St. Francis 4-1 and in the driver's seat for a playoff spot next Friday with CSC Blue Showdown on the horizon at Montini.
