Michael Buble has new Christmas album on the horizon

Michael Buble has revealed he’s working on songs for an upcoming Christmas album. 

In a live video chat posted to his official website Thurs (7/14/11), the Canadian crooner provided song details about the Yuletide project which includes a duet with fellow Canuck superstar Shania Twain . 

"There's a couple duets that I really like, one with Shania Twain, which is really fantastic," Buble tells fans in the video, which was originally streamed live from Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, CA. 

Though the album track list has not been finalized, the recently wed singer says he’s recorded Bing Crosby’s "'White Christmas,” Elvis’ "Blue Christmas,"  "Jingle Bells" with the U.K. swing trio the Puppini Sisters , as well as Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas is You" and an original track co-written with musical director Alan Chang . 

"I wanted to make the quintessential Christmas record…” the singer explains. “I wanted to make a record that would outlive me, and I wanted to do for people what Bing Crosby did for me. He introduced me to the world of jazz and melody.” 

"And I didn't want to be hip or edgy. I just wanted to make a really sweet Christmas record that kids can grow up with." 

Canadian producers David Foster and Bob Rock , who produced Buble’s most recent studio effort “Crazy Love,” will also helm the upcoming album. 

No release date has been set. 

The “Haven’t Met You Yet” hitmaker will kick off the 1st of 3 Canadian tour dates on August 5 (8/5/11) in Kelowna, BC at Prospera Place.

Shania Twain signs on for two-year Las Vegas residency // Tour ...

Is set to become a resident headliner at The Colosseum at Caesers Palace in Las Vegas.

Twain's new show, dubbed "Shania: Still the One," is scheduled to open Dec. 1, 2012. According to a press release, tickets for her first 10 performances -- priced from $55 to $250 -- go on sale to American Express cardholders beginning tonight (1/8) at "the moment Shania announces the winner of Male Video of the Year on the 2011 CMT Music Awards airing on CMT." (Twain and Taylor Swift reportedly will recreate a scene from "Thelma & Louise" to open the telecast.) Onsales for the general public begin Sunday (6/19) at 10 a.m. PT.

"This past year has been such an amazing journey and to find myself poised to play at The Colosseum is truly magical," Twain said in a press release. "The Colosseum is an iconic location with unmatched energy, and I'm excited to bring a pop/country spin to the city. People from all over the world travel to Las Vegas and I'm so thrilled to be able to share my music with a truly global audience."

The country/pop singer, who has signed on to play 60 shows per year in Vegas, hasn't performed a concert in seven years. She has claimed that that the breakup of her marriage with music producer Robert "Mutt" Lange caused her to lose her voice -- a condition from which she says she has recovered.

After keeping a low profile for many years, Twain has remarried and stepped back into the spotlight over the last two years with high-profile appearances on "American Idol," the release of a frank autobiography and a new reality show on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network dubbed "Why Not? With Shania Twain.
